Jon joined the team as our Head of Product Marketing in January 2015, and has demonstrated a real passion for making complex processes faster and easier for our customers during his time with OpenAthens.
Jon’s promotion comes at a time where he’s leading initiatives that aim to unite the two halves – identity provider and service provider – of our community, such as our new Publishers’ Manifesto which represents a new era for OpenAthens as a software company. This includes the forthcoming launch of software as a service for publishers, our heavily updated access management product, the continued development and evolution of our identity management software, the first-ever customer conference and the expansion of the OpenAthens team to ensure we continue to deliver a first-class customer experience.
Commenting on his appointment, Jon said, “I’m delighted to be helping the talented team here at OpenAthens in bringing our customers’ needs even closer to the heart of what we do. Identity and access management is central to the information business, and it’s so often viewed as a technical problem, so the user experience ends up as a secondary concern. Making the processes more transparent for our customers, and simpler for end-users, is paramount as the industry continues to grow and expand internationally.”
Jon’s goals and passion are shared by Eduserv’s new CEO, Jude Sheerhan, who joined the company in August 2016. Formerly of the Shaw Trust, Jude takes over from Stephen Butcher who led Eduserv since 2002.
